About the Show and Hosts and Crew
Let X = X, is CKCU's long-running science, technology, and environment program, which yours truly saved from cancellation by becoming the producer in March 1994. It ran in a bi-weekly format from 1994-2004. We've been back on air since 2006 as a 15-minute weekly feature every Wednesday at 9:15 a.m.
Eric van Dusen co-hosted and teched the show from 1994-1995.
Dan Smythe replaced him as co-host and co-producer partway through 1995 and stayed the course until August 2004.
Rob "Digital Bob" Hudder was our ace technical producer (and also scriptwriter) Rob produced a few very good shows, too. He joined in 1995 and stayed until 1997.
Mark Young joined the crew in 2000, as our astronomy specialist after Dan found him hosting free comet based "Star Parties" for the public because of an ad he had placed in the XPress.
In the spring of 2004, Jon Moreau joined us. These were the main players since I started producing the show.
For a lot of shows in the late 90's I was ill and Dan was producing much of the material though I was still writing and researching. You can do that even when you are housebound! :) (I finally got a diagnosis of anemia and the iron and B-12 I need and I've been fine since).
Then we went on hiatus until sometime in January of 2006 in a new weekly format. W got sweitched from Tuesday mornings where a new DJ kept forgetting to air our segment, to Wednesdays and the rest is history.
